Zenith Defy Extreme Diver

Introducing the new Zenith Defy Extreme Diver and Revival Diver Shadow editions

Following last year’s revival, the Defy is back in black and a striking yellow version

In 1969, Zenith revolutionized watchmaking with the launch of the El Primero, the world’s first high-frequency automatic chronograph movement. In the same period, the brand also launched a diver’s watch, the Defy, nicknamed the “time safe”. Last year, Zenith revived this historic collection with the DEFY Extreme Diver and DEFY Revival Diver. Now both models are crafted in titanium with yellow accents for a dark look.

DEFY Extreme Diver
The DEFY Extreme Diver watch features a 42.5mm diameter micro-blasted titanium case, 15.5mm thick and 47.4mm lug-to-lug. The fixed dodecagonal caseback lays the foundation for the black ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel, which is coated with Super-LumiNova luminous coating to ensure clear readability underwater. The case is equipped with a helium exhaust valve and a screw-down crown with a protective device. It is water-resistant to a depth of 600 meters. Despite its durability, Zenith still has a transparent caseback to clearly show the operation of the movement.

The black dial with a star pattern is dotted with bright yellow, which enhances the visual effect and readability. The rhodium-plated faceted hour markers and hands are covered with Super-LumiNova C1 luminous coating, which is still dazzling in low-light environments. The watch is equipped with an El Primero 3620 automatic movement, which is famous for its 36,000 vph (5 Hz) vibration frequency and anti-magnetic silicon escapement. The movement provides a 60-hour power reserve and is equipped with a stop-second device to ensure precise timing.

The watch is available with three interchangeable straps: a microblasted titanium bracelet with a folding clasp, a black Cordura-effect rubber strap, and a bold black and yellow fabric strap, all of which can be easily changed using the Zenith QuickChange system. The DEFY Extreme Diver is priced at CHF 11,900, equivalent to AED 47,600.

DEFY Revival Diver
The DEFY Revival Diver is modestly sized, with a diameter of 37 mm, a case thickness of 15.5 mm, and a lug-to-lug distance of 44 mm. It features a titanium case that retains the iconic 14-sided bezel and a yellow sapphire crystal set into the rotating bezel. The screw-down crown is located at 4:30, a nod to the original 1969 watch.

Like its modern counterpart, the Revival Diver is water-resistant to 600 meters and features a transparent caseback. The matte black dial continues the black and yellow color theme, with white Super-LumiNova hour markers and yellow hands.
